From the Publisher: Opposites in every way . . . except the one that matters

Shaw Landon loved Rule Archer from the moment she laid eyes on him. Rule is everything a straight–A pre-med student like Shaw shouldn’t want–and the only person she’s never tried to please. She isn’t afraid of his scary piercings and tattoos or his wild attitude. Though she knows that Rule is wrong for her, her heart just won’t listen.

To a rebel like Rule Archer, Shaw Landon is a stuck-up, perfect princess-and his dead twin brother’s girl. She lives by other people’s rules; he makes his own. He doesn’t have time for a good girl like Shaw-even if she’s the only one who can see the person he truly is.

But a short skirt, too many birthday cocktails, and spilled secrets lead to a night neither can forget. Now, Shaw and Rule have to figure out how a girl like her and a guy like him are supposed to be together without destroying their love . . . or each other.

**I received a copy of this book from the publisher,
but that did not influence the review**

First Thoughts: 5 crazy flashing stars! THIS BOOK IS CRACK!! I couldn’t get enough of Rule and his tatts and piercings RAWR OMG and read the whole thing in less than a day! I can’t believe how vested I got in the story and characters in no time at all, sucked in from page 1.

Plot, Pacing and Style: Bad boy / nice girl. Yep, that is the basic idea but when it’s done right, it is the best. THE BEST. I know, I need to stop with the capitals, but I want you to get that I loved, loved, loved this story.

The pacing was perfect, brilliant in fact. The story always moved ahead, I never felt like I was hovering or going in a circle and I couldn’t turn the pages quickly enough.

The style was alternating POV from Shaw and Rule and I loved being in their heads. LOVED!!!

The MCs: I loved both Shaw and Rule. Shaw’s name is dumb, though. SO DUMB. There, I said it, but I seriously hated it and had to let you know.

Both of them are damaged, both have some serious baggage trailing them, but they still worked together so well. You’d expect a hot mess, but it wasn’t. I never ever got tired of either one. I loved watching both of them struggle to be who they were and stay true to themselves. There really were no games, just the two of them loving each other and learning to be happy.

I loved the fire they both had. While Shaw was a “good girl” she actually was as full of spunk as Rule, which is maybe why they clicked. I loved Rule’s I don’t give a sh*t attitude. Frankly, it was so crazy hot.

I should probably touch on their looks….Shaw was gorgeous, curvy, with almost white blonde hair and green eyes. Rule was muscular, but lean. He had dark hair naturally, when it wasn’t dyed purple or blue in his mohawk, or shaved off…..le sigh. Oh, and he had blue eyes. Now let’s talk about tatts and piercings all over and I mean ALL. OVER. HIS. BOD. yah. you catch my drift…. For the love of god someone pour some cold water on me. I don’t even know what to say except for the love of god, I want a piece of that. PLEASE.

Romance /Chemistry: OFF. THE. FREAKING. CHARTS.

Title/Cover: Love the title, it’s simple and to the point. The cover, meh. I’m not sure it’s Rule. If you are going to put a person on the cover of a book it should represent that person. This guy is not scary enough, and he has no metal in his face. It just doesn’t work. It’s ok that there is no mohawk becuase I know Rule changed his hair all the time, so I could live with that, but the dude on the cover needs piercings.

Twists and Turns: There was no twist where I was like “whaaaa??” because I saw the big incident coming, but it was the heartache that I didn’t expect. I felt so very sad at some points.

Ending: It was a great HEA and well deserved. While I still want more, I know their story is over and I will have to be satisfied when I see Rule and Shaw in Jet & Rome’s books.

Gripes/suggestions: That cover….other than that I wouldn’t change a thing!!

Final Thoughts/Rec It? A million billion trillion times YES.  If I didn’t have book 2 on my kindle ready to be read I’d be a little bit more of a mess, but now I know that it isn’t over for me I can act rational. ;) Thanks, Ms. Crownover for the fantastic story!
